Welcome out of the machine. You’re reading BCKOMIX, an esoteric, eclectic, idiosyncratic rummage through comics, art, and culture. It’s like a dollar dive bin for my brain. This space will evolve as I write, mutating along with whatever I’m reading or working on.

Who the hell are you?
A rambler. Deep southerner. Humid. Gen X-ial, between analog and digital. Grizzled. Grew up in a trailer park. Started out loving and wanting to make comics. Took advice to be practical from old guys with racks on their trucks. Went to a small state school for art, concentration in graphic design. Worked in a corrugated shed using Adobe Illustrator to design big bass decals. Burnt out. Worked a series of retail and custodial jobs. Recovering from pushing a mop. Slowly getting back into drawing. Prefer to be an anon, a man of mystery, hiding in the shadows.
I have a Xitter account where I mostly post vintage comics, because as you can see my thoughts are meandering and rarely pithy.

I remember seeing you on X! It's good to see you here on Substack!
